Online Content

Online Content

What you’re reading right now is “online content.” It’s the information, pictures and other media such as YouTube videos that fills websites and makes them useful, entertaining, or some of both. The vehicle we use to deliver this content to you is a content management system (CMS) called WordPress. With WordPress, you can develop a website without knowing a single word of HTML, CSS, PHP, etc., to build a simple web page and get yourself online. (Knowing these things, however, gives you more development options.)

WordPress is not the only CMS, in fact, it evolved from its early days as a blogging tool to something far more powerful. In other words, the concept of writing within a customer’s content management system is broader than one application. For us it means we can concentrate on the substance of an article and let the customer’s CMS architects deal with the form.

We have over seven years’ experience as technical writers, developing documentation and training for enterprise-level products. Our audiences have included end users, sales personnel, field analysts, and managers within Fortune 500 and midsize companies. Now we apply that background to developing how-to articles for sites such as answerbag.com and ehow.com, to reach people who cannot avail themselves of our in-person training. Both of these sites require submitting articles through a content management system. We’ve learned how to function within such a system and would lke to apply that experience to your projects.

We apply these skills for our clients’ benefit by providing written summaries of session activity, answers to client questions via email, and summaries of research we undertake to answer client queries.

We’ll also consult with you about designing your website, then work with graphics and programming specialists and to incorporate content.
